Potty Training: When He Is Ready
Never start the training until your child shows signs that he is prepared. You will discover that even the most excellent planned toilet training practices will have you making mistakes if the child is not yet ready. Don’t worry because kids will eventually use the toilet.
It is far more likely to be favorable if your child is physically and mentally ready to start the potty training. Most children are not yet ready to use the potty until they are 3 years old or so. So better take that note. If he is ready, then do it!
You should ensure that your child can understand and follow directions at a time. If he is not able yet to understand instructions enough and cannot take more than one direction in his mind, he might cooperate well. He will only have a difficulty to manage the vital steps to using the potty.
In addition, your child must be able to tell you if he needs to go to the bathroom. The ability to be conscious of his bowel and bladder movements is very important. Without this, he will not be able to inform you prior to the time when he needs to go. His efforts to get to the toilet on time will only fail at this time.
You can lead him to practice pulling his pants on and off when he gets dressed every morning. It may take some time for him to progress with this skill but it is a necessary skill for his coordination.
Your child needs to be very eager about the training process. Before knowing it, you’ll be proud parent of him, well on the way to a dry future.
