Before you look into it further though you might want some questions clarified. You probably have a lot of questions before booking your Gap Year Divemaster. We have put together a gap year Divemaster question and answer list. Here we go.

Is food included in the divemaster gap year programme? The answer is no and the reason why we do not include a food programme for the divemaster gap year programme is because the food is so cheap and there are so many nice places to eat. You would miss out on a lot if you would have to eat at the same restaurant every day. You can eat all dishes safely in all restaurants. The food is fresh and cheap and very tasty. If you wish a Western dish like pizza you can.

How do I meet other Xtreme Gap gap year travellers? Although we dcan not tell you exactly how many others will be training there up front, there are 5 to 12 travellers from Xtreme Gap on Koh Tao. Not all do diving and the divemaster gap year programme, but are also programmes for Muay Thai, Yoga, Free diving and rock climbing and more. For more gap year Thailand ideas you can visit our site. Everyone on a Xtreme Gap gap year on Koh Tao will stay in the same resort so you will meet loads of gap year travellers.

Back up? Do you provide help on Koh Tao if I need it? There is a support network on Koh Tao, the rep will be there for you, give you an island orientation, take you out for dinner and introduce you to the others. The rep will be there for you whenever you need her. You dive every day and help your dive instructor daily. So you will have plenty of back up.

What do I need to bring on my divemaster gap year? Are there shops nearby the resort? You can buy anything you need on koh Tao, and it is much cheaper than back home, so pack light! The shops are all close to the resort. You can buy souvenirs, sun lotion, mosquito repellent, swim shorts, flip flops and everything else you might need.
Do you need injections before going to Thailand for my gap year? We cannot advice you, you would have to check the FCO website. Here you find health risks associated with Thailand, Malaria and Dengue fever are present in some areas in Thailand but Koh Tao is Malaria free and dengue is reasonably rare.

What are the rooms and facilities like the resort? The rooms are spacious and clean, and you will have a TV and your own balcony in a tropical garden. The resort is a part of the PADI dive school. At the resort you find a friendly reception, a cool bar, a restaurant with Thai and Western food, a big pool nice for cooling off, internet. And the resort is a shorts strol to the beach.

Do I need diving experience before starting the divemaster gap year programme? No experience is needed. You do not need to be afraid of water and you should be able to swim. The Koh Tao gap year divemaster programme is 12weeks and his will give you heeps of time to practice and study well.
