Downturn Drives Increase in Instant Payday Loan Applications
With the European Union decidedly in recession many number crunchers now think that the crisis is only going to get worse in the Euro zone.
From small acorns sturdy oaks grow. Unfortunately this colossal oak tree has consumer debt, government liability and property repossessions hanging abundantly from its limbs.
It all coalesces leaving us with an atmosphere of caution. The banks aren’t keen to lend to each other let alone to the consumer and consumers have no impetus to go out and buy stuff.
It’s looking like we are going to have a very frugal festive season. Joe and Jane Bloggs are increasingly beginning to have trouble financially. Those credit card multinationals and personal loan companies have got everyone by the short and curlies.
But despite the problems people are still applying for loans and lenders are still putting up the moolah. The difference is the deals you see on the high street are now more down to earth. We have seen a substantial rise in instant payday loan applications as those of us who live pay cheque to pay cheque discover that the pay cheque now doesn’t stretch far enough.
More and more of us are now applying for a payday advance where the lender provides the money on a short-term arrangement, usually no more than a month. The downside is the loan usually costs more.
Loan sharks are on the up and it’s no surprise that their business is very healthy. It is of course a recipe for disaster and with governments now acquiring gargantuan sums to try to buy themselves out of the rut, we could find ourselves creating a brand new ticking time bomb.
