Do People Really Care About the Size of a Laptop?
The question in mobile computing has become, “Does size and weight really matter or is it more important to have a computing machine that allows you to fit all your productivity software and save as many data files as will fit on your productivity machine?” Another question may be whether the small sizes are more concerning or if the light-weight portability is the main matter. I think the accessibility of different types of computers in today’s day and age lets us truly personalize our business machines into something that works for us all and doesn’t have to be typical for everyone.
The release of the cutting edge macbookair by Apple has really given us a selection with the size and what kind of mobile computing device we drag around with us everyday. At less than 3 pounds and thinner than a picture frame, we don’t have to strain our shoulders every time we walk to work. It has a 13 inch LCD screen and a normal keyboard. Tell me where I can get it today! This is the very feature I have been looking for.
When I first observed the youtube video for the MacBook Air with a slim, easy to carry portable computer coming out of that manila envelope, I was just stunned. Now, that’s the choice I’ve been seeking for so long. Now it doesn’t have to be a modern micracle to take my laptop with me any longer! No extra bag that can weigh almost as much as the computer, no more sweating, no longer taking up more room than my suitcase! What a happy day!
The frequently asked question of whether size is important is in front of us now and my answer, when it comes to a miniature portable notebook computer is a reverberating, “yes, Yes, YES!” Size does matter and so does weight. For me and my mobile computer smaller is certainly better.
