Debt Settlement Is One Of The Best Debt Elimination Methods You Can Use

Debt settlement is one of the best options for dealing with credit card debt. While you may believe bankruptcy is a good option, your filing goes into public record and you are not guaranteed to discharge your debt entirely. The new bankruptcy laws made it harder to qualify for Chapter 7. So a better alternative to filing bankruptcy is to negotiate with your creditors and aim for a settlement. In the short article, I will give you some card debt settlement advice to help you learn more about it and understand why you should use it instead of filing bankruptcy or using debt consolidation or other debt elimination methods.

So what is debt settlement and debt negotiation? In simple terms, debt settlement allows you to negotiate with your creditors and zero out your entire balance with one or two partial payments that amount to a fraction of the total outstanding balance. They would rather settle your debt for a percentage of what you owe right now than to go through a bankruptcy and wait some more years to get paid through the bankruptcy court.

In many cases, you could reduce your outstanding balances by 40% to 60% saving you thousands of dollars. This would be equivalent to cutting your credit card monthly payments in half. When you do this it’s easy to get out of card debt. That’s what makes this one of the most powerful debt elimination ways you can use.

I would not worry about interest rates when you are trying to get your balances paid off in full with one payment with debt settlement.

I would not be taking a look at my credit score when using debt settlement, or bankruptcy for that matter, it’s going to be bad. With bankruptcy and debt settlement your credit score is going to get tarnished severely. And it was going to be a matter of public record. With debt settlement your credit score will still drop but it will not be in the public record like bankruptcy. You would be surprised at how easy it is to start rebuilding your credit once you have no credit card debt.
