Check Out Tom Tom’s 4.3-inch Portable GPS Units
Tom Tom is here with yet another GPS unit. The Tom Tom 335S packs a 4.3- inch touchscreen and text to speech functions into a small package with a somewhat competitive retail price. However like the majority of other GPS units, that MSRP will probably be undercut by sellers as they try to these GPS units onto holiday shoppers. Thankfully, the XL 335S appears to be good quality for that price although I couldn’t tell you the difference between this Tom Tom 335S also, the Tom Tom 340S.
Not only does it have the text to speech functions, but it also comes equipped with TomTom’s suite of software like Share technology that allows users to alter the maps and share with others, also, the TomTom HOME desktop application that keeps the maps up to date. TomTom also loaded this PND with a redesigned UI that makes it a bit less complicated to use than previous TomTom menu systems.
The one chief draw of having GPS navigation software on your smartphone is that the phone is probably connected to a network that can give more info than just directions, but the screen is just so little. TomTom knows this and just introduced its second Internet- connected GPS device, the 4. 3- inch Tom Tom XL 340S LIVE. This model uses AT& T as its data provider and can update the users on a whole series of info: fuel prices, weather, traffic levels, traffic incidents, and more. But there’s a small catch.
It is not free. The XL 340S LIVE offers three months of the service, but after that, it will cost$ 9. 95 per month. To folks it might be worth it, but if your GPS stays in your glove box most of the time like mine, you should probably get the non- connected XL 340S. But if you will use the data services, you might like to go for the LIVE release.
